COIN-PURSE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent 'No. 234,009, dated November 2, 1880. Application filed September 13, 1880. (ModeL) To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WILLIAM H. ELLERY, of Burlington, Iowa, haveinvented a new and useful Improvement in (loin-Purses, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in coin-purses; and it consists more particularly in the novel arrangement of compartments to hold the coin, and in the combination thereof with any ordinary purse or pocket-book, all as will now be more fully set out and explained.
The figure shown in the drawing is a view of the face of the tray, with the purse or pocketbook half-opened to show the same.
In the drawing, Ais a coin-tray, rectangular in shape, provided with the compartments B B B B B, adapted to diHerent-sized coins opening into a common space, Before the opening of each compartment in the floor of the tray is a slot, b, for the insertion of the finger end to lift the coin.
O is intended to represent any ordinary purse or pocket-book with the usual provision for reception of papers, notes, money, &c., to or upon which purse or pocket-book the tray 25 A may be in any convenient way suitably attached.
I know that coin-trays with compartments suited to different-sized coins are in use, and this I do not broadly claim.
What I claim, and desire to secure, is
A purse or pocket-book, 0, provided with a coin-holder, A, having different-sized compartments B, opening into a central space, and with a slot, b, adjacent to each, substantially 5 as described.
