COMBINED $HOE-HOLDER AND BOX-DRAW.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 225,652, dated March 16, 1880.
Application filed January 26. 1880.
construction and arrangement of a device for attaching shoes to boxes, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawings, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view, and Fig. 2 a side view, of my invention.
My shoe-fastener is made of a single piece of metal, and is composed of a bar, .A, with a hole, a, near each end. Near the upper endis formed a shank or projection, B, terminating in a ring, 0, and from the same projects downward a spring-tongue, D.
This device may be made of any suitable kind of metal and more or less ornament-ed, as desired. ltis fastened to a wooden box by means of screws passed through the holes.
When it is to be attached to a paper box a piece of wood must be placed 011 the inside of the box to form a backing to receive the screws.
The ring 0 forms a handle for drawing out the box. The shoe to be attached on the outside of the box is pulled up between the tongue I) and bar A, the spring of the tongue holding it in place.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
As a new article of manufacture, a combined shoe-holder and box-draw, consisting of the bar A, ring 0, and spring-tongue D, all constrncted substantially as and for the purposes herein set forth.
