Figure 3 illustrates the method of sewing the slip shown in Figure 1.
The undergarment illustrated in`Figures 1, 2 and 3 of the drawing consists of a single piece 'I which is cut in any suitable manner out of a large 35 piece of textile fabric.
The cut piece 'I comprises two diagonal edges 8 and 9, the bottom edge I0 and the usual triangular upper pieces II, I2, I3 and I4 which form the V-neck. A shoulder strap I5 is sewn to the 4 pieces I3 and I2 while the piece I4 is connected with the piece I I by the shoulder strap I6.
silk, the combination satin-cellulose acetate or 1 any other suitable material. They will eliminate a V-back. The garments have a maximum stretch around the bust and hips and will t any figure.
The single piece of material as illustrated in Figure 3 is substantially of trapezoidal shape, the two sides of the trapezoid extendingsubstantially in the direction of the warp and being joined together to form a single seam, the bias of the material extending substantially circumferentially of the body. What is claimed is:
. A feminine undergarment in the form of a. slip extending from the arm pits to substantially the knees and suspended from the shoulders by shoulder straps, said garment being formed of a single panel or piece of substantially stretchable textile material of trapezoidal shape, the base of the trapezoid forming the lower edge of the garment, the top of the trapezoid forming the top of the garment, and the two sides of the trapezoid extending substantially in the direction of the warp and being joined together to form a single seam, said seam extending diagonally across the garment from one side adjacent the top and adjacent an arm pit to the other side adjacent the bottom, the bias of the material extending substantially circumierentially of the body.
