IMPROVEMENTJN SHELVES FOR STOVE-OVENS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 200,432, dated February 19, 1878; application filed January 14, 1878.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, OHARLEs N. BUzzELL, of Monroe, county of Waldo, and State of Maine, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Stoves, of which the following is a specification:

Shelves for holding dishes have been heretofore attached to the horizontally-swinging doors of stove-ovens by means of a hinge, the arrangement being such that their free ends were supported upon the fioor or bottom of the oven, so that the act of opening or closing the oven-doors causes the shelves to slide on said floor or bottom.
My invention is an improvement upon the above andconsists in pivoting, by means of apeculiar device, one or more shelves in an oven, and in providing the shelves proper with an extension or curved arm, which furnishes a partial support for large dishes, as hereinafter described.

Referring to the drawlng,Ais a stove-oven of the usual form, in which are placed two similar, but oppositely-arranged, grated shelves, B, which are each provided with a hub, G,
which is attached to one corner of the shelf,
and has formed on it a pivot, to, which turns tial support for a dish which is too large to be supported by the shelf alone.
When the oven opens only upon one side, as in the case of ranges and some kinds of stoves, only a single shelf is used.
I do not limit or confine my improvement to any particular form or dimensions, nor to its application to stove-ovens, as it may be made of any required size or shape, and may be applied to ovens of every sort.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent The shelf B, pivoted within the oven A, and provided with a curved arm, 0, as shown and described, for the purpose specified.
