Abstract

A novel decorative wrapper is presented that is designed to be placed around an industry-standard six-pack bottle carton. The wrapper can be affixed permanently or removably to the carton outside.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • This invention relates to a decorative outer wrapper for drink bottle six-packs. The invention is intended to be usable with any drink bottle six-pack, whether for alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages. [0001]
  • Several inventions teach a decorative outer wrapper for liquor gift boxes, where the gift boxes are covered in festive holiday or special occasion wrapping paper, e.g. U.S. Pat. Nos. 3,833,164, 3,335,937, 2,950,040 and 3,534,898. The gift box outer wrapper is present to identify the brand, etc. of the liquor in the gift box, which is unmarked with product information. The outer wrapper is designed to be removed and special care must be taken to provide attachment means to secure the outer wrapper to the gift box without marring the decorative gift box wrapping. [0002]
  • This invention is designed to provide an outer wrap for a standard-size beverage bottle six-pack. The six-pack carton will have the producer-provided product information on it and the purchaser will buy this invention to place over the six-pack and obscure the product information. The invention will be secured by a glue or adhesive that may be as strong as necessary to keep the wrapper in place because it is not designed to be removed without marring the package, as the previous inventions have been. The wrapper will have festive or holiday themes on its outer surface, such as “Happy Birthday” or “Merry Christmas”. The wrapper could also have a decorative pattern with no message. [0003]
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • It is an object of this invention to provide an inexpensive, beverage six-pack wrapper that carries decorative patterns or designs on its outer surface. [0004]
  • It is a further object of this invention that the wrapper be designed for easy display packaging. [0005]
  • It is a further object of this invention that the wrapper possess on its inner surface an adhesive or pressure sensitive tape that will hold the wrapper to the outside of industry standard beverage six-pack cartons. [0006]
  • It is a further object of this invention that the wrapper could be made out of cling vinyl such that decorative stickers could be affixed to the wrapper outside surface. [0007]
  • It is a further object of this invention that the wrapper could be made of fabric. [0008]
  • Further objects of this invention can be discerned by perusing the detailed description, drawings, specifications and claims of this application.[0009]
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The construction and operation of the invention can be readily appreciated from inspection of the drawings that accompany this application, combined with the detailed specification to follow. [0010]
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective drawing of the preferred embodiment of the invention applied to the outside of a standard beverage package. [0011]
  • FIG. 2 is a drawing showing the invention laid flat with its inner surface exposed. [0012]
  • FIG. 3 is a perspective drawing showing the wrapper partially applied to the outside of a standard beverage package.[0013]
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The invention is best described by referring to the preferred embodiment illustrated in the drawings in FIGS. 1, 2, and [0014] 3.
  • Referring to FIG. 1, a six-pack bottle wrap (wrapper) [0015] 101 is a flat piece of paper product or fabric that is folded in such a way that it can be attached to the outside of an industry-standard six-pack beverage carton 106. The outer surface 102 of the wrapper can be plain or printed with decorative themes. There are one or more strips of adhesive material 104 lining the inner surface 105. In the preferred embodiment, there is one continuous strip of adhesive material as shown in FIG. 2. When folded to match the corners of a beverage package, the folds 103 are present.
  • The [0016] adhesive material 104 can be strips of self-adhesive material or strips of adhesive with tear-away coverings. The glue can be of any strength suitable for holding the wrapper 101 onto the outside of the carton 106. The wrapper can be made to be removable such that the adhesive material 104 does not harm the outside of the carton 106, or semi-permanent such that the wrapper 101 is less likely to come off but the outside of the carton 106 is more likely to be marred.
  • It should be understood that changes and modifications to the foregoing description can be made without the resulting invention departing from the spirit and scope of the appended claims. [0017]
