IMPROVEMENT IN CIGARETTES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 198,977, dated January 8, 1878; application filed December 14, 1877.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JACOB GORDON, of New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cigarettes; and I do hereby declareV that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which forms part of this specification.
My invention relates to cigarettes; and it consists in providing one end thereof with a .piece of tobacco, pasted around the same, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the saine, I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawing, in which the ligure is a side view of my cigarette.
A represents the filling, and B the ordinary paper wrapper of a cigarette. O represents a piece of leaf-tobacco, pasted, outside of the wrapper, around one end of the cigarette, this end being the one that the smoker will put in hisfmouth.
This covering of tobacco at the end will prevent the wrapper from adhering to the lips ofthe smoker, as it does in smoking all paper cigarettes, which is very objectionable to smokers.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The cigarette herein described, consisting of the filling A, paper wrapper B, and tobacco mouth-piece O, as set forth.
