Description
L. C. McCOMB CELLOPHANE HELMET on CAP July 31,1934.
Filed A ril 7, 1952 Patented July 3], 1934 UNITED STATES PATENT; OFFICE 2 Claims.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in cellophane helmets or caps and more especially to an article of this kind adapted to be worn while dressing or fitting dresses, to
protect the hair, makeup and dresses.
The primary object of my invention is to provide an article of this character which is simple and economical in construction and highly efllcient and durable in use.
With the foregoing and other objects in view that will appear as the nature of my invention is better understood, the same consists in the novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts illustrated in the accompanying drawing and more particularly pointed outin the appended claims.
In the accompanying drawing, which is for illustrative purposes only and is therefore not drawn to scale:
Figure 1 is a side elevation of a cellophane helmet or cap made in accordance with my invention.
Figure 2 is a front view. Figure 3 is'a vertical section, taken on lin 3--3ofFigurei.'
FlgurelisasimilarviemtakenonlineH' of Figure 1 and Figure 5 is a cross section, taken on line 5-5 of Figure 1.
Referring to the drawing for a more particular description of my invention and in which drawing like parts are designated by like reference characters throughout the several views, .my helmet or cap, generally indicated by the reference character A, is made from cellophane, or other suitable material, and is of general hoodlike form. Said helmet or cap is adapted to be worn while dressing or fitting dresses and serves toprotect the hair, makeup and Specifm ically, the helmet or cap comprises the back}.

The front 1 of the cap, is provided at or near the center, with perforations 8 to facilitate breathing and the back 2 is provided with an adjustable inturned or rolled-up lower edge 9, through which the tape or cord 10 passes. Said tape or cord is adapted to be tied at the front under the chin of the wearer.
From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the drawing, it is thought that the construction, use and advantages of my invention will be readily understood without requiring a more extended explanation.
Having described my invention, what I'claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
1..A' cellophane helmet or cap adapted to be worn while dressing or fitting dresses and comprising a back portion terminating'approximate- 1y at the top of the neck; a longer front portion extending below the chin and corresponding side portions with central wedge-shaped openings.
2. A cellophane helmet or cap adapted to be worn while dressing or fitting dresses as a protection for the hair, makeup and dresses and comprising a back portion terminating approximately at the top of the neck, a longer front portion extending below the chin and corresponding side portions or members with central wedge-shaped openings, inturned re-inforcing flaps at the edges of the wedge-shaped openings of the side members, an inturned or rolled up fold at the lower edge of the back portion and a tape, string. or cord passing through said inturned or rolled up 'fold and tied at the front under the chin. e
