ERNEST M. WASSERSTROM, CI KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI.
AIR-COOLED car.
Application filed October 29, 1923. Serial No. 671,441.
My invention relates to ventilated caps and my object is to provide a cap of this character in which provision is made for the free circulation of air around that portion of the wearers head covered by said cap, thereby rendering the same especially comfortable and desirable for use in Warm weather. V
A further object is to provide a cap of neat and attractive appearance and which may be made in different styles for sport and everyday uses.
In order thatthe invention may be fully understood, reference will now be had to the accompanying drawing, in which:
Fig. l is a front elevation of a cap provided with the invention.
Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the cap.
Referring now in detail to the different parts, 2 designates the cap which is provided at its front portion with a vizor 4 of any suitable form. The upper portion 6 of the cap 2is made full to provide an air space which extends around the wearers head when the cap is being worn.
Air is admitted to and escapes from said air space through openings 8 arranged at opposite sides of the forwardly folded portion 10 of the cap which is detachably secured to the vizor by'a button 12. Ventilators 12 are arranged across the openings 8 and consist of open mesh work such as buckram or other suitable material having good wearing qualities and of neat appear- The ventilators l2 are secured in place by any suitable means, stitching 1 f being shown for that purpose. The openings 8 and the ventilators 12 are of substantially triangularformation to conform to the shape of that portion of the cap between its lower margin and the folded portion 10.
From the foregoing description it is apparent that a cap made up in the manner to make such changes as properly fall with- 1n the spirit and scope of the invention, as
stated.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patcnt, is:
A cap having a folded forward part andv a full upper portion for the free circulation of air and triangular shaped openings at each side of said folded part for the enacross said openings, substantially as set fort-hand described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
ERNEST M. NAS ERSTROM.
