Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 193,201, dated July 17, 1877; application filed 4 May 21, 1877.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES B. WELLs, of Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Ohio, have invented a new and Improved Whirligig, of which the following is a specification My invention has relation to a toy known as a Whirligig; and it consists in a thin circular plate or disk surrounded by leaves or semicircles so shaped and arranged that when rapid rotation is given to the disk a whistling sound is produced, as will be understood from the following description.
In the annexed drawing'the figure is a view of one side of my improved toy.
The letter A designates the body of the toy,
which is perforated at a a to receive the operating string 0, and which may have impressed upon one or both sides a grotesque face or any a other fancy figure.
Surrounding the body A are leaves B,'which are of semicircular form I with spaces or notches b between them rounded,
as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- A Whirligig whistler, formed of a single disk-plate, A, perforated at a a and provided with curved leaves B on the periphery, the leaves being separated by notches b, as shown and described.
