IMPROVEMENT IN BOOK-COVER PROTECTORS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 193,139, dated July 17, 1877; application filed June 11, 1377.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, CHARLES B. BROWNE, of Gamillus, county of Onondaga, and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Book-Oover Protector, of which the following is a specification:
Figure 1 represents. the book-cover detached g from the book. Fig. 2 is a transverse section A is pasted or glued together, but the folded parts of the cover A are not fastened together.
The parts A A of the cover are made of separate pieces of material, and connected by a back-piece, B, of elastic rubber, which is sufficiently yielding to permit of adapting the cover to books of different thicknesses.
, The folding part A, when placed on the book-cover, is retained by an elastic band, 0, and an elastic band, 0, is provided, which is designed for slipping over a part of the leaves of the book to keep the place. v
This improved cover is designed for public and private libraries, for Sunday-schools, common schools, for use in counting-rooms and other places.
Having thus described my-invention,I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent A book-cover protector consisting of the parts A A, made as described, and connected by an elastic back-piece, B, and provided with a fastening-band, O, substantially as shown and described.
