To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, JOHN W. The nature of my invention consists in the construction of a fence, partly of wood and partly of metal, the posts of same being made hollow, as will be hereinafter set forth.
To enable those skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation.
,In the accompanying drawing, which makes a part of this specification, and which is a side elevation and a part in section, A represents the post of the fence. This post is made of iron and is cast hollow. [t is also provided with a series of holes made through it horizontally to receive the rods or fence-rails. B- B represent the rails, which will, as a general thing, consist of wire or iron rods. They pass A fence composed of the hollow posts A A,
the rails B B, the wedges c c, and the top rail D, with its pins e c, all constructed substantially as and for the purpose specified.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 8th day of February, 1877.
