  • the lumps of tobacco thus deposited in the cigarette rod would form hard spots therein which caused defective cigarettes, and in some cases even caused trouble while going through the machine, either tearing the cigarette paper or damaging parts of the machine.
  • the concave 35 is supported by the barf29 and'reciprocated over the pin roller by the cam 26, the stroke being such that the concave 35 traverses the distance between the circumferential rows of pins on the pin roller 8.
  • Theends of the pins of the roller 8 being sufliciently close to the concave 35 to remove the tobacco dust from its inner periphery before it forms lumps, thus assuring a perfect cigarette rod.
