Description

March 7, 1933. A. ORMSBEE FLUSHING SYSTEM OPERATING TABLES Filed June 26, 1951 A L 017228174949 @uymm ATTORNEY i Thisinvention relates tovmortuaryiequipw [Patented Mar. .7,

able and nauseating method ofiprocedlireby means 'ofa; waterbucket anda handop- 'erated sponge or swab. This is aidisagreenate, the necessity for this hand cleaning method by providing a cleansing water-spray arrangement permanently mounted 'in connectionwith the table and controlled at will by the operator;
A further object isto provide a means for detachably connectingthe spray nozzle to" a fixed source of water supply. so that the table is capable of a certainamount of movement relative to said fixed; source, so'thatfthe water mayissue from the nozzle Whilelthe.
table-is thus being moved. In'thismanner the cleaning of the table ofxthe matter thereon is enhanced by the fact that theoperator' may tilt the table inlone direction or the other so that the water flowing from the noz- 21c will run down the gutter on both sidesof the table to the drain outletand said gutter as well as the table will be efiici'e'ntly f flushed without any hand cleaninglbeing resorted to.
A further object, of the invention is to I produce asimple and inexpensivedevice and yet one which will .be exceedingly effective 1 for' the purpose ifor iwhi'ch itis'fdesign'ed. a
' 'These' objects -I accomplish'by' mean's'ot such structure and relative arrangement of parts as will fullyapp'ear by aperusalof the following specification and claims. 1 I y n i In the drawing similar characters ofreference indicate corresponding'parts in the severalviews.

In order to support the outer end of the hose in conjunction with the table when said hose is disconnected from the supply hydrant, I provide'a spring clip 15 or similar device which is mounted on the lower portion of the flange 4 111 a convenient position to enable the hose to be engaged therewith as indicated in Fig. 1.
From the foregoing description a n b readily seen that I have produced such a device as substantially fulfills the objects of the invention as set forth herein.
While this specification sets forth in detail the present and preferred construction of the'device, stillin practice such deviations I from such detail may be resorted to as do not form a departure from the spirit of the invention, as defined by the appendedjclaims.
' Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and useful and desire to secure by Letters Patent isz,
t 1. In combination with a mortuary ope'rats ing'table, a transversely extending water spray device mounted in connection with the table adjacent its upper end to discharge a spray onto the table in the'direction of its lower end, a conduit connected to said device and extending to and beyond the lower end ofthe table for connection to a fixed source of water supply,'and a control valve interposed in said conduit. 7
2. In combination with a mortuary operating table, a water spray device disposed above the table adjacent its upper end todischarge a spray onto the table in thedirection of its lowerend, a pipe connected to the device and projecting throughthe table, and a flexible hose connected at one end to the pipe and adapted at its opposite end for detachable connection to afixed water supply cp p , In combination with a mortuary operating table, having a depending flange: all
' 7 around the same, a water spray device fixed in 7 connection with and above the table adjacent its upper end to discharge a spray onto the table in'the direction of its lower end; "a rigid conduit connected atone end to said device o and extending thence lengthwise of and under the table and through the flange at the 7 lower end of the table, a hand valve connected to the conduit beyond the table, and a flexible conduit connected atone end to said valve and adapted at its other end for con- 'nection to a fixed Water supply pipe,
1 In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
