While I have shown and described herein certain mechanical details of construction which embody one preferred form of my invention illustrated, itwill, of course, be understood that these may be changed and variously modified without departing from the spirit of my invention, and I do not desire to be limited to the construction and arrangement herein shown except as pointed out in the appended claims.
I claim 1. In an apparatus of the character described, a casing provided with an inlet chamber and with a water chamber having openings adapted for the passage of water therefrom, a hollow handle connected to said casing and constituting a conduit opening into said inlet chamber, means connecting said hollow handle with a device for producing a vacuum therein, scrubbing devices carried by said casing, flexible tubes carried by said casing, said tubes opening at 5 their upper ends into said inlet chamber,
and having their lower ends substantially in the contact plane of said scrubbing devices, means for supplying water to the water chamber of said casing, and independent means carried by said handle for controlling said water supply and for controlling the vacuum produced insaid inlet chamber.
2. In an apparatus of the character described, a casing provided with an inlet chamber and with water passages located at the lateral edges of said inlet chamber, said water passages being provided with openings for the discharge of water, a hollow handle connected to said casing, and constituting a conduit opening into said inlet chamber, means connecting said hollow handle with a device for producing a vacuum therein, scrubbing devices carried by said casing, flexible tubes carried by said casing and having their lower ends substantially in the contact plane of said scrubbing devices, means for supplying water to said water passages, and independent means carried by said handle for controlling said water supply and for controlling the vacuum produced in said inlet chamber.

In an apparatus of the character described, a casing, scrubbing devices secured thereto, said casing being provided with a water chamber having openings for the discharge of water therefrom, means for supplying water to said water conduits, a hollow handle, a movable connection between said hollow handle and casing, and flexible tubes carried by said casing, depending to a depth approximating that of the bottom of the scrubbing devices, said casing having a suction conduitccnnected with said tubes whereby the scrubbing water may be drawn up through said tubes, substantially as described.

In an apparatus of the character described, a hollow casing, scrubbing devices secured thereto, said casing being formed with a water conduit and a passage therefrom for discharging the water upon the floor, a tube connected to said casing for supplying water to said conduit, a handle, flexibl tubes carried by said casing and depending to a depth approximating that of the bottom of the scrubbing device, said casing having a suction conduit connected with said flexible tubes whereby the scrubbing water may be drawn up through said flexible tubes and a movable connection between said handle and easing.
5. In an appliance of the character described, the combination of a box-like casing section open at the bottom and closed at the sides and ends, a brush back detachably secured in said casing, and forming the bot-- tom thereof, flexible tubes having their upper ends secured in said back, and extending to substantially the same depth as the brush bristles, said casing being in communication with the upper ends of said flexible tubes, and formed with a conduit leading therefrom, a union connected to said conduit, a handle connected'to said union, a valve in said handle, said casing having a water conduit and longitudinal passages connected to said water conduit, and having openings leading downward from said passages, and adapted to discharge the water upon the floor, a tube connected with said water conduit, and a valve in said tube, substantially as described.
