IMPROVEMENT IN TICKET-REELS.
Speciiicationforming part of Letters Patent No. 189,552, dated April 17, 1877; application led July 31, 1876.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WALTER N. EVANS, of Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois,-have invented a new and useful Improvement in Ticket-Reels, of which the following is a specification:
The nature of the present invention consists of an imperforate hollow case, which is made of a single piece of material, and provided with parallel flanges, between which the farestrip or ticket is drawn out, and with a slotted cover, which shuts over the open end of the case, and is held in place by the margins a size to carry any ticket or strip desired. One end of the case is closed, and the other end is to be closed, after putting in the strip or ticket, by a cover, B, which is itted to pass onto the case, and is provided with a slot in one side to permit it to engage the flanges C, and thus be held in place. In practice the cases may be made of tin, united at the closed end by solder, and japanned and numbered for different lines of conveyances, and any suitable device, as, for instance, a pin-catch of ordinary construction, may be used to'attach the case to the apparel of the user for convenient use.
Y I claim- The combination, with an imperforate cylinder, A, constructed with parallel flanges, the cylinder and flanges formed of a single piece of material, of a removable slotted cap, which is retained on the cylinder by the tension of the flanges, substantially as described, and for the purpose set forth.
