My invention relates to a device for holding andsupporting books, newspapers and similar articles in which-laterally extending means, permanently connected with the device, are provided for engagingrandholding flat the pages of the article when in use or on display as in a shop window. These means are freely releasable so as to easilydisengage and engage the pages as they are turned. In

particular, the invention relates to a device provided with angularly adj ustableisupporting means permitting it tobe used as a pa e a marker when the article, for-example a boolr,

One of the objects of my invention is to provide a device of firm but light construction which may beused for holding and supporting articles and for holding the pages I flat when the article is in use or on display in a shop window, and which is provided with angularly adjustable supporting meanspermitting the device to be used as a pagemarker when the article is not in use. q

Another object is to provide a'combined 4 book holder and page marker-with vertically and separately adjustable means so as toenable it to be used with books and other arti cles of various'lengths. V i l Another object is to provide a combined so book holder and page marker which' is constructed of a minimuinnumber of parts and which may be economically 'manufactured and rapidly and easily assembled.
