UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
PHILIP M. OGG, OF PORT JERVIS, NEW YORK.
IMPROVEMENT IN KNIFE AND FORK POLISHERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 187,981, dated March 6, 1877; application filed January 23, 1877.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, PHILIP M. OGG, of Port Jervis, in the county of Orange and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Knife and Fork Polishers; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use it, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form part of this specification.
My invention relates to an improvement in knife and fork polishers; and it consists in the peculiar clamping device for holding the polisher, and the construction of the polisher itself, as will be more fully described hereinafter.
The accompanying drawings represent my invention.
0. represents the clamp, which consists of two pieces, made long enough to form a convenient handle, and securely held together by means of a set-screw, c, or other device. At their outer ends these two pieces are made circular in form and hold between them the cleaner and polisher d, while at their other end one of the pieces has a small socket, 0, formed on its inner side, into which a This brush and piece of cork are secured to-.
gether, so as to form one piece, and thus form a handy and convenient tool; but, if preferred, they may be made separate and distinct.
Having thus described my invention, I claim- 1. The combination of the clamp a, made of two pieces and provided with the clamp, socket 6, and tenon g, with the cleaner d, consisting of the brush i and cork h, substantially as shown.
2. The clamp a, formed of two pieces, having the circular clamping ends, socket, and tenon, e g, and secured together by means of a set-screw, substantially as specified.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 18th day of January, 1877.
PHILIP M. OGG.
