The trigger is likewise formed with an integral extension 21 upon one side of which, oppositefthe pin 20, there is integrally formed a pin 22. The extension 21 is formed with opposed inclined projections 23 and 24 extending laterally upon the opposite side of the extension 21 fromlthe pin 22. A recess 25 is formed in thetrigger upon one side of the extension 19 and the extension is provided along theedge of the recess with asuitable projection 26.`

. The spring 33 is a compression spring and Willth`erefore, at all' times, act-to draw thepaWl toward the trigger 'and hencetoward' portion of the tang. The lateral extension 36 Which is bent at right angles to the body of the paWl forms the contact portion `of the paWl Withl a strip of caps, indicated at 39.

Y i V:When the trigger is pulled, the extension 19 is raised in this manner, raising the-'pavzl 34 which, by reason of the spring 33, is forced toward the cap strip with itscontact edge 36 engaging the 'cap strip,soithat asthe eXtension 19 continues to rise, the'pawl `34 will push Y the cap strip upwardly to bring a cap into striking position. A pistol of the class described comprising a trigger, a hammer, means carried by the trigger for yactuating saidhammer, a cap strip feed plate, 'and means normally pressed toward the trigger 'and carried thereby for engaging and moving a cap stripvover said s f feed platewhen'the trigger is retracted, said `means comprising a. pawl having a longi tudinal edge and a compression spring having with the longitudinal edge ofv said paWl and engaging the same near its free end and the other engaging thetrigger, ,c Y
