PATENT CFFIG'E.
ALEXANDER FRITZ, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
IMPROVEMENT lN-TOY-S.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 186,418, dated January 23, 1877; application filed June 6. 1876. I
- To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALEXANDERFRITZ, of
the city and State of New York, have invented a Toy, of which the following is a specification: t
In fountains there have been balls upon which the jet has acted to raise and sustain such balls, and conical baskets have been employed to .catch such balls and return them over the jet when they fall.
'My toy is operated in a somewhat similar I employ a tube with a vertical arm and flaring end, through which atmospheric air is blown from the mouth, and the ball is a hollow glass globe,
' with a spear or point projecting from one side.
There may also be a second spear projecting from the other side. A ballot wax may be applied at the end of the spears to act a weight and lessen concussion in falling. There may also be a flag on the end of one or both spears.
In the drawing this toy is shown by an elevation as in use.
The tube a is adapted to be received in the mouth, and the vertical and flaring end b receives upon it the ball 0 of hollow glass, with one or two spears, d e, projecting therefrom.
When the breath is blown through the tube a the ball will be raised from the end 6, and the spear d or e, or both, will serve to balance the ball in such a manner that the ball can be kept up easier and for a longer time than it could be without them, and when the ball falls the spear striking first lessens the risk of breakage.
This toy is very amusing to children, and
ALEXANDER FRITZ.
