IMPROVEMENT IN BUTTONS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 184,173, dated November 7, 1876; application filed February 6, 1875.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ARGHIBALD M.Rro11- MoND, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Linen or Cloth Covered Buttons; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making a part of this specification, in which I Figure 1 represents a perspective view of one of the buttons in question. Fig. 2 represents, on an enlarged scale, a section through the-button.

I am fully aware that a linen or cloth covered button is not new. I am also fully aware that a spiral-wire fastening for a stud or button is not new; but I am not aware that a button entire, as I propose to make it, and as herein claimed, has ever been made or introduced as an entire article of manufacture;

What I claim as a new article of manufacture is- I A button composed of two conveX-concavo disks, the outer one of which is covered with a suitable fabric, and the inner one provided with a pointed helical fastening, substantially as herein set forth.
