This invention relates to a collar holder; and has for its object to provide a collar holder which will have a resilient jaw and be easily 0 erable consistent with the proper amount-o holding power.
A further object of the invention is to" provide a collar holder which is provided with jaws, one of which jaws will have spaced fabric en aging portions and the other of which wi I tend to force the fabric between these spaced portions to increase the grip ing and holding ower of the holder on t e collar. A still urther object of the invention is the offsetting of one of the bars which makeup the jaws tocontrol and insure a more resilient action between them.

"It is found desirable in forming collar holders to provide a pair of jaws which will have suficient resiliency to permit a soft collar to be easily slipped between them .but also will have, suficient holding power to tightly grip the collar and maintain the same n; place; and in}. order to accomplish these results I have provided-jaws one of which is provided with spaced portions to permit the fabric to be pressedbetweenthem and cause the fabric to contact on these spaced jaws forming a two-point engagement; and in order to insure a sil-iency I' have offset one of the ars adjacent the point at which it is secured to the other bar thereby providing an easier movement of the jaws; and the following is adetailed description of the present embodiment of this invention illustrating the'preferred means by which these advantageous results may be accom lished: With reference to t e drawings, 10 des gnates the lower bar which is formed of wire and folded at its opposite ends to provide loops 11, each loop has an opening 12 between the sides 13 and 14 thereof and is offset asat 15 to align the opening with the'generaljexi :3; tent of the bar 10 between "the loop portigns, 1

In the modification shown in Fig. 8, the jaws are formed of a single piece of wire folded upon itself similar to the iaws illustrated in Fig.1, and these jaws 2? are connected together by a ring or open 28 all lowing e' loose or flexible connection between the two jaws 27. i
In the modification shown in'ldig. 9, the material used is flat sheet stock es distinguished from round wire and the loop 29 is formed by slitting the stock and separating the portions 30 and 31 to rovide en opening 32 between them into which the rolled ends 33 of the upper bar 34 extends to cnuse the same type of biting engagement with the fabric as heretofore described.
The foregoing description is directed solely towards the construction illustinted but I desire it to he understood thet ll reserve the privilege of resorting to all the mechanical changes to which the device is susceptible, the invention being defined and limited only by the terms of the appended claim.
I claim:
A collar holder comprising two sets of Wire jaws disposed in opposite directions, each set having one jaw provided with en ofifset portion in the extent of the Wire and folded heck upon itself to meet said offset portion and form an open loop with the opening in said loop extending in line with said jaw, end the other of said ews located in the plane of the extent of said opening of said loop and extending thoreinto.
