Description
I S ept. 1,1931. s n- 1,821,585
KEY AND LICENSE HOLDER Filed Aug. 25, 1930 Inventor A llomey Patented Sept. 1, 1931 'EETEQ fiTA'FES CALDWELL .A. SMITH, OF NOROTON' HEIGHTS, CONNECTICUT KEY AND LICENSE EOLIDER.
Application filed August 25, 1930. Serial No. 477,691.
The present invention relates to a combination holder for automobile and other keys and also for automobile registration 7 certificate and operators license and the like 1 and the prime object of the invention resides in the provision of an exceedingly simple structure which is inexpensive to manufacture, convenient, thoroughly efiicient and reliable in use and otherwise well adapted to the purpose for which it is designed.
With the above and numerous other objects in view as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction, and in the combiration and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
In the drawings: Figure 1 is a perspective view of the blank from which the device is made, and
Figure 2 is a perspective view of the device made up. Referring to the drawings in detail it will be seen that numerals 5 and 6 denote rectangular sheets of suitable material such as leather or the like connected by an integral strip 7 adapted to be folded along a central transverse line 8 so as to place the sheets 5 and 6 in abutment with each other and the same are sewed together along three of their edges as is indicated at 9. On the sheet 6 there is formed a flap 10 which is adapted to be folded over along the line 11 and suitable snap fastening means 12 is utilized to hold he flap in a closed position. V
The compartment thus formed by the sheets 5 and 6 is used to hold the registration card drivers permit and the like while the loop formed by the strip 7 is adapted to receive a key ring 14 or the like.
It is thought that the construction, utility and advantages of this invention will now be quite apparent to those skilled in this art without a more detailed description thereof.
The present embodiment of the invention has been described in considerable detail since in actual use it attains the features of advantage enumerated as desirable above. It is apparent that changes in the details of construction may be resorted to Without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed or sacrificing any of its advantages.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
A device of the class described comprising a sheet of material cut to form a pair 01" substantially rectangular portions and a narrow portion centrally arranged and connecting together opposite ends of the other'portions, one of the said other portions having a flap at its outer end, the central narrow portion being folded at its transverse center to form a loop and to place the rectangular portions together,
said rectangular port-ions being sewn together along their side edges and the end edges to which the narrow part is con nected, therebyfcrming a holder which is closed by the flap.
"1 J in test mony whereof I affix my signature.
CALDWELL A. SMITH.
