. The object of my invention is to provide a very simple and inexpensive type of powder holder intended primarily for use by men.
More particularly, it is my purpose to prof vide a powder holder of the type having a lower casing member, an interior top powder retainer removably received and frictionally held therein, provided with a bent neck and adjustable closure therefore, and a movable top or covering forming a part of the casing.
With these and other objects in view, my invention consists in the construction, arrangement and combination of the various parts of my powder holder, whereby the objects contemplated are attained, as hereinafter more fully set forth, pointed out in my claims, and illustratedr in the accompanying drawings, in which: t f

These are of ordinary well known construction.; v 1 It is my purpose to make a powder holder adapted Vfor containing face' powder and the like of a peculiar type herein explained, which can be conveniently carried in a traveling bag or toilet kit, and which is of novel structure peculiarly adapted for its purposes. In the accompanying drawings, I have shown in Figures 1, 2 and 4 a powder holder comprising a lower casing member indicated bythe numeral 10 of concavo-convex form,

b rolled flange`14.- This casing member is designed to hold powder which is covered in the first place by an interior top and in the second place a3 by a second or top casing member, which will be later described.
The interior top comprises, a portion 16 having a. peripheral down-turne-d wall 18 t0 lit snugly and frictionally within the wall 12, in such manner that the portion 16 stands substantially above the level of the upper edge of the wall 12 as shown in the drawings. The` member 16 is so resilient that it may terminating in an outwardly projecting ger for compressing the air above the pow-der 26 and forcing loose powder ou't through k75 the neck 22. When pressure isV released from i the member 16, airis drawn into the holder thru the neck 22 and thereby `loosens the powder so as to facilitate the discharge there-v of upon subsequent pressure being applied to ne j f the member 16.

The form of device shown in Iigurehas a top casing member similar to that already described.
In Figures and G, I have shown a slightly different form of my device, which is substantially rectangular in outline and has rounded corners. In the form of the device shown in Figures 5 and G is illustrated a bottom casing member having the concave convex portion l2 with the upstanding peripheral wall 14 terminating in lhe outwardly projecting flange 4G. The interior top is similar to those already described having the member 48 with the down-hanging peripheral-wall 50.
In the form of device shown in Figures 5 and 6, however, the neck 22 similar to that already described is connected with a depressed portion 52 of the member L18, which would make it possible to-build a somewhat thinner structure.
The top casing member of this form ol' the device has the concavo-conveX por ion 5d with the downwardly extending` peripheral wall 56, having the outwardly inclined 'flange 5S hinged as at to the flange 46.
I have in the present device provided a very simple and inexpensive cosmetic holder convenient to be carried in a traveling cas or the like.
My device has its parts so arranged and constructed as to make it easy and convenient to recharge it with loose powder 2G. This can be done by removing the interior top, inverting it, filling it with powder and then inverting the bottom casing men ber and slipping it over the wall of the interior top until the walls of said members are''rietionally engaged for thus holding them together.
The discharge vent or opening in the'complete containerl thus formed may be entirely covered and protected by the top casing member.
lhere it is desirable to hinge the two parts 10 and 2S of an oval holder together, portions 62 and 64 may be formed as shown in Figure 7 for forming a'straight wall 'for the hinge 60.
I claim as my invention:
1. In a powder holder, a bottom member having an upstanding peripheral wall terminating in a peripheral, outstanding flange, an interior top having a peripheral downwardly extending wall frictionally engaged within said first wall and projecting upwardly therefrom, said interior top having a discharge opening and a neck extending upwardly therefrom provided with an adjustable closure means, and a top casing member having a downwardly inclined peripheral wall also terminating in a peripheral, ou*- standing flange for rietionaliy engaging around the wall oi said interior top.
2. In a powder holder, a bottom member having an u1 standing peripheral wall, an interior top having a peripheral downwardly extending wall trictionally engaged within said lirst wall and projecting upwardly therefrom, said interior top having a discharge opening and a neck extending upwardly therefrom provided with a transversely slidablyadjustable closure means, and a top casing member having a concave convex member and a downwardly inclined peripheral wall for lrictionally engaging around the wall of said interior top, theV portion of said interior top carrying the neck being down-set immediately adjacent the neck only substantially as shown.
3; In a powder holder, a bottom member' having an upstanding peripheral wall, an interior top having a peripheral downwardly extending wall frictionally engaged within said first wall and projecting upwardly thereirom, said interior top having a discharge opening and a neck extending upwardly therefrom provided with an adjustable closure means, and a top casing member having a concave convex member and a downwardly inclined peripheral wall for frictionally engaging around the wall of said interior top, said interior top being entirely flat and bendal'ile for discharging powder troni the holder andl loosening it by a pumping action.
