IMPROVEMENT IN REVOLVING BILL-HOLDERS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent N0. 18 [,089, dated August 15, 1876; application filed May 27, 1876.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, SYLVESTER W. MAY- NARD, of Kingston, in the county of Ulster and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Revolving Bill-Holder, of which the following is a specification:

In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 represents a vertical longitudinal section on line 0 c, Fig. 2, of my improved revolving billholder, and Fig. 2 a vertical transverse section of the same on line :0 .90, Fig. 1.

The invention has reference to an improved revolving bill-holder, that furnishes a neat and compact device for filing bills, receipts, and other papers, in such a manner that they are instantly and conveniently Within reach.

The invention consists of a number of receptacles, with spring-acted covers arranged around a central section or case, and revolved or locked by a sliding and spring-acted shaft and fastening device.

For bringing any one of the bill-filing receptacles to the top, so as to take the papers out or file them with ease, the shaft is pulled back by its end button until the perforated rear wall clears the stop-pin, and admits the revolving of the bill-holder until the required receptacle is in proper position. By releasing the shaft the bill-holder is carried back by the action of the spiral spring, and locked by the stop-pin in position, forming thus a neat billfiling device for office and other purposes.

Having thus described my invention, 1 claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent l. A revolving billluolder, having a number of receptacles for bills and other papers, arranged around a central section or part. and provided with hinged and spring-acted covers, in combination with a sliding and spring-acted revolving shaft, and a locking device, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.

2. The combination of the turning and spring-acted bill-holder, having as many perforations as bill-receptacles, equidistant from the shaft, with a fixed stop-pin on the supporting-frame, substantially as and for the purpose described.
