I claim:

1. A lamp shade securing device comprising a stem having a groove formed therein, a cap, spring fingers on the cap and adapted to engage Within the groove to hold the cap in position, and. said cap adapted to secure a shade on a lamp base.

A' lamp shade securing device comprising a stern having a tapered extremity, a cap i to be fitted-overthe stem to engage a lamp shade positioned thereover, yieldable fingers carried by the cap and adapted to spread when the cap is forced over the tapered end of the stem, and said fingers adapted to grip the stem to rem'ovably secure the cap in position.
