Class 75(2) A tubular anti-glare shade for electric incandescent lamps, adapted to be supported on the bulb of standard lamps of different sizes is constructed so that it can rest directly or by means of fingers on the bulb of the lamp, so that the angle a subtended at the light centre by two lines L, L<SP>1</SP> from diametrically opposite points on the upper edge of the shade is at least 100 degrees and the angle # subtended at the light centre by two diametrically opposite points on the lower edge of the shade is between 60 and 130 degrees. The shade may be cylindrical or slightly frusto-conical and may be provided with an outwardly directed ring 4a at the upper edge to reflect the light upwards. The shade may be of metal or plastic; in the former case the fingers may be integral with the body of the shade. Alternatively, they may be formed by wires soldered to a metal shade or secured during moulding a plastic shade. The shade may be split longitudinally so that its diameter can be varied.
