i This invention relates broadly to toilet fixtures and has "more particular reference to toilet fixtures which can be placed or set up in the wall ofa building, which when in use may 'B' be swung outwardly to project fromthe wall and which when not-in use may be swung inwardly within the interior of the wall to be completely hidden from view, and at the same time being so placed when not 1n use as .to permit the utilization of the space the the ture would ordinarily occupy were it stationary, for other needed purposes.

A very important object of this invention is to provide a toilet fixture of the character above mentioned,- the toilet fixture being preferably in the nature of a hopper.

In addition to the above, numerous other objects andadvantages-of the invention will readilypresent themselves during a study of the following description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherelet fixture in position for use.

With reference more in detail to the drawings, it will be seen that I have designated generally a conventional wall of a lavatory by the reference character WV. and this wall may be of tile or any other suitable material.

Secured to the wall around the outer edge of the opening is a suitable rectangular shaped frame designated generally by the reference character 6. The frame comprises shaped longitudinal upper and lower frame members 8, and vertical end frame members 8. Upper and lower angular members 7 provide tracks for a sliding door 9, which door 9 ma be made of any suitable material and is pref erably so constructed as to resemble on its outer face the outer face of the wall W as bracketed or supported within the opening through the medium ofsupporting brackets .11. A pipe fitting 12 has its lower end por' tion fitting telescopically within the upper end of the waste pipe 10, and intermediate its ends the coupling 12 is provided with an annular flange 13 adapted to seat within an enlarged socket 14 formed on the upper end of the waste pipe 10. The flange 13 cooperates with the bottom of the socket 14 to provide a ball race and said flange rests on ball bearings 15. The top face of the flange 13 is also provided to form a ball race in con junction with an annulus 16 disposed about said coupling 12 and within which ball race are ball bearings 17. held against rotation through the medium of set screws 18 threaded through the wall of the socket and disposed in sliding engagement with the adjacent peripheral edge of This connection between the coupling 12 and pipe 10 also in cludes a suitable packing structure designatcd generally b the reference character 19. Arranged in the recess 5 and adapted for horizontal swinging movement within said recess is a Vertical partition or wall section 22. This wall section 22 on its outer face will resemble the outer face of the room wall W This wall section 22 is adapted for horizontal swinging movement within the recess, and this wall section is of a height as to fit within the r cess between the top and bottomot the recess, and said wallrin width is such that when the wall section is swung for closing the open end of the recess said wall section Will close substantially half 01 the opening of the recess so that said wall section may be disposed between one end edge of the opening and the sliding door 9 when the door is in that position shown to advantage in Figure 2'thus providing a complete closure for the recess when the wall section is in said position. The swingable wall section 22 is provided with a suitable opening 23, with which opening is aligned the other end of the elbow 20, said last mentioned end of the elbow fitting within said opening in said movable wall as shown to advantage in Figure 3. Securedto the wall for moving therewith is a conventional hopper. Said hopper includes the usual bowl 24 secured to the movable wall section 22 in a manner to be hereinafter more fully set forth, the outlet of the bowl communicating with that end of the elbow 20 disposed within the hole or opening in said movable wall as also shown to advantage in Figure 3. The bowl is also suitably equipped with the hingedly mounted toilet seat 25.

Disposed rearwardly of the movable wall section 22 is a connecting plate 26 which plate 26 is preferably of that configuration shown in Figure 7, and this plate adjacent its upper end is provided with an opening 27 through which extends the last mentioned end portion of the elbow 20 and adjacent its lower end said plate 26 merges into a semi-circular clamp section 28 fitting about the upper end portion of the waste pipe 10. A complemental semi-circular clamp section 29 has outstanding apertured ears 30 at its opposite end disposed in registry with the apertured ears 31 of vthe clamp section 28 formed on the plate 26 and suitable connecting bolts 32 are passed through the apertured ears for i said sections28 and 29 about said upper end of the waste pipe 10. Each of the clamp sections 28 and 29 are internally channeled or grooved and cooperate with a channeled annular flange 33 formed on said upper end of the waste pipe 10 to provide a ball race for ball bearings 34 as shown in Fig m ihus 1t Wlll be observed that these clamp sections 28 and 29 in said clamped position are adapted for rotary movement about said pipe section 10. Said plate 26 adjacent its upper end is suitably formed to provide lateral ears 35 extending in parallelism with laterally extending ears 36 projecting from opposite sides of the elbow 20, said ears 36 and 35 being suitably apertured for the reception of clamping bolts 37 as clearly suggested in Figure Directly above the opening 27 adjacent its upper end the plate 2-3 is apertured as at 38, which aperture aligns with an apertured lug 39 rising from the top of the elbow 20 and a suitable bolt 40 has its opposite end threaded in the aperture 38 the aperture of the lug 39 as is suggested in Figure 3.

The face plate 41 of the bowl fits against the outer face of the movable wall section 22, and this face plate isanchored to the wall through the medium of attaching bolts 42 which bolts 42 have one end thereof threaded in retainmg nuts 43 embedded within the face plate 41. Said bolts 42 extending through suitable apertures in the movablev the reference character 46, which passage 46 leads inwardly from the base plate 41 of the bowl, and at its entrance end there is arran ed in the passage 46 and embedded therein a suitably fianged nut 47 which nut 47 is threadedon one end of the horizontal arm 48 of an L-pipe designated generally by the reference character 49, the upper end of the vertical arm 50 of said L-pipe having a swivel connection 51 will the water conduit pipe 52 leading from any suitable source of water supply. It is to be understood, that any kind of flushing apparatus may be used with this toilet fixture.

The arm 48 also extends through an aperture termed in the upper end of a vertical supporting rod 53 rising from the elbow 20 and also shown to advantage in Figure 3.

From the foregoing it will be seen that in using the fixture, the door 9 may be slid to the left in Figure 1 for movement within the wall structure W to an open position and then by grasping the bowl 24 the same may be swung in a horizontal plane thus swinging the wall section 22 to that position shown in Figure 2 for closing a portion of the opening leading into the recess 5 in the wall W, and the bowl will then be disposed in suitable position for use. The door 9 may then be drawn inwardly, or to the right of Figure 1 so that its forward ed e may abut the adjacent verti cal edge of the wall section 22 thus,

completely closing the opening leading to said recess 5 as is shown to advantage in Figure 2. When not in use, the door 9 may he slid away from the wall section 22 and the bowl 24 and the wall section 22 then swung in a horizontal position for disposition completely within the recess 5, after which the door 9 may be moved to right of Figure 1 completel closing the opening leading to the recess or to that position shown in Figure 1.

It is believed that from the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, a clear understanding of the operation, construction, utility and advantages of a toilet fixture of this character will be had by those skilled in this art without a more detail description.

It is also apparent that in lieu of the toilet bowl suitable arrangements may be mace whereby a wash bowl or like toilet fixture may be substituted therefor and swingahly mounted within the recess 5 to be disposed therein when not in use or swung outwardly of the recess for disposition where ready use may be made thereof.

Even though I have herein shown and described the preferred form of my invention, it is to be understood that the same is susceptible to certain changes fully comprehended by the spirit of the invention herein described, and the scope of the appended claims.

Having thus described my invention what I wish to claim as new is 1. A support for toilet fixtures comprising in combination, a drain pipe, an elbow coupling rotatably mounted on the upper end of the drain pipe, a bowl supporting plate provided with an aperture tor aoconnnodating said elbow, a clamp carried by the plate and rotatably engaging said drain pipe, a toi bowl, and means for securing said toilet bowl to said plate.

3.
