Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 179,554, dated July 4, 1876; application filed May 27, 1876.

v To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, HENRY N. HAMILTON, of \Vhite Plains, in the county of Westchestor and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Fountain-Pens, of which the following is-a specification:

The object of this invention is to furnish a pen which shall be so constructed as to 'write a page or more of manuscript with once dipping it in the ink, and which may be easily cleaned.

The invention consists in the combination of the half-ring tube, the pins, and the ring, with the slotted tube, the pen, and the tongue, as hereinafter fully described.

A is the tube, the upper end of which is open to serve as a socket to receive the handle. The other end of the tube A is halved, and the shoulder thus formed is beveled or rounded off, and said part is closed with a plate, which is extended into a tongue, B.
