ALBERT, OF CINCINNATI, OHIO, ASSIGNOB- TO THE UNITED STATES PLAY- ING CARD COMPANY, OF NORWOOD, OHIO, CORPOEATION'OF OHIO DISPLAY cARToN Application filed February This invention relates to improvements carton with one or more liners forming a double wall structure subdividing the carton into duplex compartments accessible from relatively opposite ends of the carton, the double wall structure forming a pocket or slip space for the reception of the card exhibited or displayed through an opening in an outer wall of the carton, and a space for insertion of the tucking tab of a carton end closure flap.

Further objects and features of the invention relate to structural details of the carton and to a carton primarily adapted for packing duplex sets of playing cards, more fully set forth in the description of the accompanying drawings, in which:

The closure flap 18 and an adj acent portion of the face wall is slitted crosswise by a pair of companion slits 20-20 providing an intermediate portion of fingering space 21 centrally of the end of the carton, depressible from the major portion of the flap and side wall to obtain a finger hold about said intermediate portion and tucking flap, adapting 1 said portions to be compressed together along venient' to withdraw the tucking flap in opening the carton, the upper portion of the trick 'ing flap being accessible about the fingering space 21 due to the offset or inwardly curved edge of the face wall behind which the tucking flap is engaged.

The carton is sub-divided into two compartments by a pair of box-formed liners of duplicate construction, each having an open end arranged within the carton, adapting the compartments to be relatively accessible rom opposite ends of the carton. Each liner is formed from a blank preferably cut to the pattern outline shown in Figure 3, comprising side walls 22, 23, joined by an intermediate end wall 24 defined by parallel scored lines 25-25. Each side wall at its free end is provided with an end wall flap 26, each bendable along a scored line 27, and the side wall 22 is provided with a base flap 28 foldable along a ends of the liners together, which would only I increase the ply thickness of the liner atas meeting portions and thereby destroy a uniform fitting of the liner into the carton, and

Having described my invention, I claim: '1.
