Another object of the invention is the provision of a device of this class which will be simple instructure, economical of manufacture, dui-able and highly eflicient in use Other objectswill appear hereinafter.

The invention consists in the combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter described and claimed.

The i invention comprises a supporting member having a main body 7, which may be attached by screws or the like to a' suitable support 8. Each of the ends 9 and 10 of the i main body 7 are bent outwardly and provided with a notch adjacent the rupper end of the outward edge. The engaging member formed from wire and formed preferably U shaped isrockably mounted on the outwardly projecting ends 9 and l0.` The legs 12 and 13 of this U shaped member are angularly turned as at 14 to provide the portion 15 which engages the outer face of the angula'rly turned portions 9 and 10. A paper holder of the class described comprising a supporting member having a main body; angularly turned ends projected outwardly from said main body' and extend- ,ing in .parallel spaced relation, each of said ends having notches formed inits outer edge adjacent the upper end ,thereof and each of saidends having an opening formed'therein; a U shaped retaining member having the ends i of its legs angularly turned. to engage in the said notches, the ends of said angularly turned portions of said legs projecting through said openings and pivotally mounting said retaining member on said supporting member; a pair of springs each connected at one end to said supporting member and at the oppositc end to said retaining member for normally resisting disengagement of said retaining member from said notches.

A paper holder of the class described comprising a supporting member having a main body; angularly turned ends on said main body projected outwardly in parallel spaced relation to each other, each of said ends having a notch'formed in its outer edge udjacent the top thereof, and provided With an opening below said notch; a Ushaped retaining member the legs thereof being angularly turned to engage in said notches and engage below said notches the outer face of said engularly turned ends of said supporting member, the ends of said legs being again angularly turned and projected through said openings. r

A paper holder of the class described comprising a, supporting member having a main body; angularly turned ends on said main body projected outwardly in parallel spaced relation to each other, each of said ends having a notch formed in its outer edge aldjaeent the top thereot, and provided With :111 opening below said notch; a U shaped retaining member the legs thereof being angulnrly turned to engage in said notches and engage below said notches the outer face of said ungularly turned ends of said supporting member, the ends of said legs being again a ngularly turned and projected through said openings; and resilient means for normally resistng disengagement of said retaining member from said notches.
