BROCK R. ROBLIN, 0F ROCHESTER, NEW YORK, ASSIGNOR TO WAYNE SPECIALTY MANUFACTURING CORPORATION, OF ROCHESTER, NEW YORK.
KEY-RING HOLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented June 1, 1920.
Application led September 11, 1919. Serial No. 323,057.
To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, BROCK R. ROBLIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Rochester, in the county of Monroe and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Key-Ring Holder, of which the following is a specication.
This invention has reference to key ring supports, and more particularly to supports for supporting a key ring by the belt used in supporting apparel.
The primary object of the invention 1s to provide a device of this character formed of a single strip of metal, the ends thereof being constructed to closely engage each other, to prevent an article supported on the device, from being displaced therefrom, by means other than'the effort of the user.
A further object of the invention is to provide a device of this character wherein one end of the supports extends across the space between the side members of the support, to divide the space into an upper, belt engaging section, and a lower ring supporting section.
With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, may be made within the scope of what is claimed without departing from the spirit of the invention.
Referring to the drawing Figure 1 illustrates a perspective viewI of the support and a key ring supported thereby, the support also being shown as having connection with a belt.
Fig. 2 illustrates a side elevational view of the support.
Referring to the drawing in detail, the reference character 5 designates a fragment of a belt, on which the subject matter of the present invention is to be hung or supported.
The key ring support includes a length of metal, bent as at 6, to provide the front walls 7 and rear wall 8, the front Wall 7 are supported in close engagement withk each other.
The outer arm 7, is provided with a curved end portion 12, which provides a camming surface, for camming a key ring as indicated at 13, to the central portion of' the support, whereupon the same passes to the lower section of the support, or the key ring supporting section thereof.
As shown, the inner arm 9, extends inwardly toward the rear wall 8, and lies in close proximity therewith, thereby partitioning, or dividing the s pace between the front wall 7 and rear wall 8, thus preventing a key ring supported in the lower or key ring supporting section, from moving upwardly into the belt section of the support.
The end 14, of the inner arm 9, also provides a camming surface for directing a key ring between the arms 9 and 10, when it becomes necessary to remove the key ring from its support.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed is A key ring support including a rear wall and a front wall, said front wall comprising a pair of opposed arms, said arms having irregular portions, said irregular portions adapted to engage each other, one of said arms extending inwardly and terminating at a point in close proximity with the rear wall of the support, for dividing the support into an upper and lower section, the opposite arm having a curved end portion, for camming a key ring into the lower section of the support.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own, I have hereto affixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
I n BROCK R. ROBLIN.
Witnesses:
WILLIAM C. HILL, BYRON R. BACON.
