This invention relates to improvements in neckties. It is one of the objects of this invention to provide a necktie of the ready-tied variety, in which means is provided for easily 1. and quickly securing said tie to the collar.

A further object of this invention is to provide an improved necktie having means therein co-operating with the collar button to hold said tie properly in position.

A further object of this invention is to provide an improved necktie which is simple in construction and neat in appearance, and inexpensive to manufacture.

With the above and other objects in View,

ii the invention consists of the improved necktie and all its parts and combinations as set forth in the claims, and all equivalents thereof.

Referring more particularly to the drawing, the numeral 8 designates a necktie which has an upper portion 9 of knot formation. The said knot formation is formed by securing the upper portion of the tie around a forming member 10,.Wl1l0l1 is originally holloW as at 11. The said member may be made of any rigid or semi-rigid material. A securing member 12 is positioned within the recess 11 of the knot forming portion 10, and is held in position by rubber which is poured in said recess 11 around said securing member12.

The collar 18 is of ordinary construction, and its ends are held together by acollar button 20, which is formed on its outer end with a ribbed head 21.

In adjusting the necktie in place, the head 21 of the collar button is inserted through the opening 19 of the covering member- 17, andthrough the enlarged opening 15 of the securing member. The tie will then be in 11. the position shown in Fig. 2. i The knot portion of the tie is then gripped and pushed upwardly until it assumes the position shown a CR in Figs. 1 a11d3,where the collar button is held within the channel. By moving the knot one way or the other on the collar button, it is possible to vertically adjust the tie withrespect to-the collar to attain the exact position desired. As the ribbed sides of the the collar button, the tie will be held very securely in any adjusted position. To take oli' theftie, it is merely necessary to move the knot portion downwardly until the head of at which point the tie may be readily disengaged fromsaid button by pulling outwardly. It is tobe noted that the improved necktie may be used with any type of collar. It is further to be'noted that the ordinary type 99, 0f collar butto nrnay be employed, although thetype shown with the ribbed head is preferable, and forms one of the features-of the invention. Although only two forms of the device have been shown and described, it is obvious that various modifications may be made without departing from the spirit of the invention, and all such changes are contemplated as may fairlyco'ine withinthe' scope ofthe'clairns.
