IMPROVEMENT IN BALE-TIES.
Specification formingpart of Letters Patent No. [77,957, dated May 30, 1876 application filed I November 9, 1875.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J. L. RANDOLPH, of Martinsburg, in the county of Berkeley and State of West Virginia, have invented a new and useful Improvement in BaleTies; and I do herebydeclare that the following is a full and exact description of the same, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, and
to the letters of reference marked thereon.
This invention relates to that class of baleties which consist of two similar metal pieces or buckles, having open-sided slots, the two being used to make a single tie by passing each one through the loops of the band from A represents a buckle, having the opensided slot at, as shown. a. a represent longitudinal grooves rolled therein.
When the buckle is in usethe grooves coincide, so that the cut portion of each is reenforced by the uncut portion of the other.
If desired, other forms of grooves may be employed, as shown in Fig. 3, or an equivalent device, as shown in Fig. 4:.
As this special construction may be made by rolling, it can be produced at small, cost.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
