To all whom it may concern:

. -Be it known that I, Miss L FRANOES WOOD- WARD, of Woodstock, in the county of Windsor and State of Vermont, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Ladies Work- Table, of which the following is a specifica- 'tion:

. Figure 1 is a perspective view of my improved work-table. Fig. 2 is a plan view of the lower leaf.

, leaf provided with cavities and pins, the upper leaf or basket provided with the bail or handle, and'the small intermediate leaf provided with the looped strap or tape, as hereinafter fully described.

Arepresents the post or standard of the table, to the lower end of which are attached four feet, B, spread apart sufficiently to give the table a firm and stable support. The feet B are designed to be provided with casters, so that the lady can conveniently move the table while sitting-in her sewing-chair. To the standard A, at a suitable height from the floor, is attached a circular leaf, 0. In the forward part of the leaf G are formed three cavities, c c 0 to contain buttons and the variety of things needed in sewing: a cavity, 0 for scissors, crochet-needles, &c.; a cavity, 0 for a pin-cushion cavities c? c" for a thiinble and emery and a cavity, 0 back of the post or standard 'A, for a ball of darning-cotton. The number, size, and arrangement of the cavities maybe varied as'rnay be desired. To the rear part of the leaf 0 are attached a number of pins, 0 to receive spools of thread, silk, 850. To the upper end of the standard A is attached a circular leaf, D, to receive the work,so that it may not interfere with the implements upon the leaf 0. The leaf I) may be replaced by a Work-basket, if desired. To the edges of theleaf D are pivoted the ends 'of a semi-ring handle or bail, E, for convenience in carrying the table from place to place. To the standard A, between the leaves 0 D, is attached a small circular leaf, F, to the edges of which is attached a tape 01- strap, f, sufficiently full to form loops or keepers to receive bodkins, stilettos, papers of needles, 85c.

The table is made of such a height as to be convenient for the lady while sitting upon a low sewing-chair, and as light aspos'sible, while giving it suflicieut strength, so that a lady can readily carry it from place to place.

Having thus describedmy invention, What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

A work-table consisting of thestandard A, the feet B, the lower leaf 0, provided with cavities and pins. the upper leaf or basket D, provided with the bail or handle E, and the small intermediate leaf F, provide'd with the looped strap or tape f, substantially as herein shown and described.-
