SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 510,563, dated December 12, 1893.
Application filed March 30, 1893. Serial No. 468,386. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM N. CASSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Marinette, in the county of Marinette and State of Wisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Wall-Bracket Work- Boxes; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to improvements in Work boxes, and it consists in such other novel features as are hereinafter described and claimed.
Reference is had to the accompanying drawings, in which the sameparts are indicated by the same letters throughout the several views.
Figure 1 represents a front view of the device. Fig. 2 represents a side view of the same, and Fig. 3, represents a plan view of the device with the swinging drawer swung open.
A represents a flat back or board which may be of any desired form, but is preferably for purposes of ornamentation, made in a shield-shaped form as shown in Fig. 1.
B represents a shelf attached to the board A, which shelf is provided with a hook-shaped knife I) for cutting thread, upright pins 0 for holding the spool D, and a pedestal E on which the pin cushion H is mounted.
F represents an emery cushion, which is glued or otherwise attached to the molding of the pedestal E.
K represents a swinging drawer attached to the shelf B by means of the hinge pin it, and resting when closed on the bracket M. The swinging drawer K is provided with a knob is, and with round receptacles K and K to contain the sewing material. The edge of the bracket M should preferably be rounded somewhat as at m in order that the swinging drawer K may be closed Without striking on the edge of said bracket. 7
A hook N is provided for the purpose of hanging a scrap bag,.shea'rs, or other similar article thereon.
Holes a are provided in the board A for the purpose of attaching the same to the'wall, or to the side of a desk, bureau, or other piece of furniture. I
Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is
A combined wall bracket and work box, I
comprising a fiatback adapted to be hung vertically, a shelf approximately set at right angles thereto, a swinging drawer hinged at one side beneath said shelf, and a bracket attached to said flat back and adapted to normally support said swinging drawer when closed, substantially as and for the purposes described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two Witnesses.
