The present invention relates to a liquid pump which is mainly designed to serve for the purpose of spinning mills. As is well known the main condition in this case is not only that each pump work permanently uniformly, but also that all pumps mounted on the same machine possess accurately the same efliciency. Heretofore this could be attained neither with the piston pumps nor with the gear driven pumps commonly used for this purpose which are exposed to comparatively rapid wear. S ecially those types'of pumps did not serve or this purpose, the pressure elements of which were driven independently from each other.
The characteristic feature of my present invention consists therein-that on one and the same driving shaft at least two eccentrically working .pressure elements, connected to a controlling slide valve movable like a pendulum, are mounted in such a manner that the working periods of the several pressure elements succeed one another. If for instance two such elements are mounted on a common shaft, itis expedientto displace 180 the eccentric rings which control said elements. The advantage of this arrangement consists in that the um works absolutely free from shocks so t at t e delivered quantity of the same is absolutely constant. --This is for the purpose of spinning mills of the greatest importance as every, even the slightest, variation in its delivery influences the thickness of the thread to be roduced and consequently the uniformity of the fabric made from the same.
A further characteristic feature of my in-- vention consists in that the orificesof the inflow and outflow channels for the liquid to I be delivered (for instance viscose) are arran ed directly on the side faces of the controlling slide and open on preliminary flood spaces which are arranged in the sides of said slide. By this arrangement a goodpacking of the channel orifices at the moment of the reversing is ensured on the one hand and on the other hand a uniform inflow or outflow of the liquid into or from the useful space of the pump whereby also the uniformity of the function of the pump is favorably influenced.
As extraordina high requirements are'asked for spinning mi s in relation to the exactness of their function it is of great importance that the force of friction of the rotating parts is reduced to a minimum.
According to a special form of construction of my invention this effect is attained in that the slide valves end in a head" with circular cross-section which is arranged either in a suitable sparing of the casing or in a suitable sparing of the pressure elements which head serves for said pressure elements as a pivot.
I have illustrated my invention in the accompanying drawing in which Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section.
Fig. 2 shows an elevation of the inner arrangement viewed in the direction of the arrow'C and corresponding to line A-B of Fig. 1.
The two sides of the pump operate in series.
In the form of construction shown in Figs. 1 and 2 two disk like pressure elements a and c are mounted in the casing A on a common working shaft (1, said elements working in the spaces 6 and b and being controlled each by one of the two eccentric elements d and d displaced 180 the one to the other. What I claim as new and desire to secure by a United States Letters Patent is In a liquid pum for the purpose of spinning mills in com ination afcasing, consisting of three plates connected to each-"other,
one of the outer plates having an inflow channel, the other one having an outflow channel for the liquid, the center plate provided with a circular recess on both sides and alongitudinal recess annexed to said circular recess, a circular piston and a controlling slide valve firmly connected with said piston in said recesses, said center platealso having inflow and outflow channels forthe liquid and said slide valve being positioned to separate the inflow and outflow channels; a shaft mounted disks dis laced the one wit regard to the other a 1i e distance, each eccentric disk car- I rying and controlling one of said circular pistons, a further circular recess oneach side'of'said center plate and a circular guiding disk for each 0 all substantially as described and set forth.
