The present invention relates to an improved one piece double compartment cabinet particularly adapted for use in toilets for toilet articles, shaving paraphernalia and the like, and an essential purpose of the invention is to provide a cabinet of this kind especially adapted for shaving purposes.

One of the features of the construction is the fact that the cabinet is made in one piece, either pressed metal, cast or die formed.

Another feature of construction comprises the formation of a cabinet having double compartments, a large compartment at the top having a closure therefor, and a smaller open compartment at the bottom, the construction of the cabinet being such that the two compartments may be formed at the time the cabinet is formed.

Another feature comprises a counter-sunk opening in the top of the cabinet to receive a socketed element for the reception of the threaded plug and of an incandescent lamp bulb, the counter-sunk opening and the socketed element being so disposed as to direct the rays of light downwardly toward a person standing in front of the cabinet shaving or otherwise using a mirror in the door or closure for the main compartment.

It is to be understood that the particulars herein given are in no way limitative, and

that while still keeping within the scope of the invention, any desired modification of details and proportions may be made in the construction of the appliance according to circumstances.

The invention comprises further features and combination of parts to be hereinafter set forth, shown in the drawings and claimed. In the drawings Figure 1 is a view in perspective of the improved cabinet constructed in accordance of the invention.

Referring to the drawings, 1 identifies the cabinet as a whole, and disregarding the door or closure 2 (which is hinged at 3 and adapted for closing the main compartment 4 of the cabinet) it is constructed in one piece, either pressed metal, cast orpossibly die stamped.

The cabinet has a formed compartment 5 spaced a short distance below the major or main compartment. The main compartment 4 is designed to receive various toilet articles, such as shaving and facial creams, tooth pastes, shampoos and the like, shaving para phernalia and medicines, there being a plurality of shelves 6 supported in any suitable manner, possibly as shown at 7, to support such articles.

The lower open compartment has a bottom 8, which may support a shaving mug and brush, razor or any other article which may be adapted for ordinary use. 7

As previously stated the cabinet may be made of pressed metal, cast or die stamped, and the upper compartment is formed from the metal, that is it is counter-sunk from the metal, or rather from the fact of the cabinet, in such a manner as to provide for a marginal flange portion 9, said flange portion 9 extending downwardly on the sides of the cabinet and merge into ornamental curved portions 10, which integrally merge into the bottom or shelf 8 of the cabinet, the lower portion of the shelf or bottom 8 also has a flange, which is really a part of the marginal flange 9.

Theflange 9 merges into an ornamental s5 flange portion 11 at the top of the cabinet, which ornamental portion is of a curved contour or centrally bulged, which merges into the downwardly and laterally curved parts at the upper end of the flange 9. This ornamental flange 11 or extension has a countersunk flanged opening 12, the flange of which is tapered as identified at 13, while a portion of the flange merges into a cylindrical part.

The invention having been set forth, what curved parts integrally connecting With thebottom shelf, said cabinet having an upper dominant and a lower auxiliary open compartment, a closure for the upper dominant compartment, said flange merging integrally with a flanged extension at the top of the cabinet, said flanged extension having a counter-sunk flanged opening for the reception of an electric lamp or bulb.

A one piece toilet cabinet formed from metal, said cabinet comprising a body having a marginal angular flange and provided i with a base shelf, which merges into the flange, and the lower portions of the flange having curved parts integrally connecting with the bottom shelf, said cabinet having an upper dominant and a lower auxiliary open compartment, a closure for the upper dominant compartment, said flange merging integrally with a flanged extension at the top of the cabinet, said flanged extension having a counter-sunk flanged opening for the reception of an electric lamp or bulb, said flanged counter-sunk opening having its axis inclined downwardly and forwardly thereby correspondingly directing the light rays toward and upon the head of a person in front of the cabinet.
