This invention relates to e box or conteiner.
An object of the invention is the provision of at box or container formed of cardboard and composed of three main parts which are joined together in a complete unitar-y structure by metal staples or some other well known form oi fastening means.

Referring more particularly to the drawings, 1O designates a body member which 1S of SHlllClQlit size to provide laterally pro ecting flanges 11 at the bottom forming all nott-Oll'l edges oi the box when completed. The dotted lines 28 indicate indentations or scoring of the material whereby the flaps 23, 24, 26 and 29 may be bent for the formation of the side and end walls of the body of the box.
The sections 20 and 21 have lateral extensions 31 and 32 and the material'between the sections and the extensions is indented or creased as indicated at 33. The sections 22 and have lateral extensions 35 and 36 providing flanges, and the material between the sections and the extensions or flanges is indented or creased as indicated at 37 to provide for the bending of the flanges horizontally and at right angles to the sections.
In order to construct the box, the body of which includes the section 20 is placed in a vertical position, as shown in Fig. 3, and the connection 23 is bent at 28 inwardly in fiat contact with the inner face of an end of the section 20 and then bent at right angles to form the side wall from the section 22. The connection 24 is bent in flat contact with the adjacent connected end of the sections 21, while the connection 26 is bent in flatcontact with the adjacent connected end of the end Wall or sections 21, while the flap 29 is bent in flat contact with the 'free end of the section or end wall 20. Staples 40 are employed for securing the connections 23, 24 and 26 to the adjacent ends of the respective side and end walls, while sta les 43 secure the flap 29 to the free end 0 the end wall 20, thereby forming the chamber 42.
The flanges or extensions 32 and 36 of the sections are secured respectively by means of staples 4A to the extensions 11 of the bottom orbase member 10. The flanges 31 and 35 of the side and end walls are secured to the extensions 13 of the top 12 by means of staples 4:5,
It will be-seen by the above construction that n box or container is provided having laterally projecting edges which will absorb shock and blows and thus protect the contents of the container from injury during treatment and handling. These edges are sniiiciently extendedtonormallymeintain the side and end "walls of the box out of engagement with the surface of other boxes and will also aid in preventing the breakage of the side and end walls.
