CHARLES REIOHLE AND THEODORE KRAUSS, OF SAGINAW' CITY, MICHIGAN.
IMPROVEMENT IN WlNDOW-BEAD FASTENERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 177,004, dated May 2, 1876; application filed March 25, 1876.
To allwhom it may concern:
Be it known that we, CHARLES REIGHLE and THEODORE KRAUSS, of Saginaw City, in the county of Saginaw and State of Michigan, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Sash-Fastener; and we do hereby declare that the following is afull, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon.

Our invention relates to window-frames; and it consists in a detachable slotted fillet for such frames, combined with slotted plates and flat-headed screws, whereby the window-sash may be taken out at any time without the aid of tools or drawing nails, as will he hereinafter more fully set forth and definitely claimed. In the annexed drawing, A represents an ordinary window-frame with sash B. O C.

One of these, 0, may be fastened in the usual manner, by nails or otherwise, as desired, while the other one, C, is made detachable in the following manner: In the fillet 0, near each end-or at any desired points-is made a slot, at, which is surrounded on the outside of the fillet by a slotted metal plate, I). In the side of the frame'are inserted flatheaded screwsD D, the heads ofwhich pass through the slots at and plates 1), and by then screwing in said screws the fillet is held firmly in its place. By this means the strip or fillet O can easily be removed at any time when, for any purpose, it may be desired to take out the sash. This can then be done without the aid of any tools or drawing any nails or screws.
