My invention relates to light reflector signs and signals such for example as those used u on highways, streets and the like as tra 0 guides.

In the construction of such signs and Si"- nal devices it is the usual practice to embody in each device a plurality of reflector units and it not infrequently becomes necessary to repair the same by the substitution of a new reflector unit for an old one; or for some other reason it may become necessary to remove one or more units, less than the whole, hence it is desirable that each unit not only be. supported independently of every other unit but also-that the respective units may be readily removed.

The general ob ect of the invention is to provide novel means of simple construction whereby each'reflector unit of a group of units may be readily attached to and dewhereby each tached from its support, and unit may be supported independently of everyother unit.

Tothe foregoing and other ends my invention comprehends the construction as hereinafter described in detail, particularly pointed out in the claims appended hereto, and as shown in the drawing wherein I haveillustrated one form of a convenient embodiment of the invention.

In the drawin 1 designates. a post or standard upon w ich is supported a plate such as that shown at 2. The said plate is provided-with a plurality of spring holding elements or devices 3 whichare secured to and contiguously supported upon the plate 2 in separate groups or without regard to groups as may be desired. In the construction as illustrated they are arranged in separate groups, the units of each group being so related to each other as to form the letters S, T, O and P, spelling the word Stop.

In the construction as illustrated the spring holding elements 3 are provided. with bottoms4 which are secured to the plate 2 by spot welding, as indicated at 5, but may be otherwise secured thereto as by means of rivets or the like. Each of the reflector unit holdin elements 3 is provided with oppositely isposed sides 6 which are curvilinear in cross section. These sides are convergent as shown so that the portions 7 thereof are nearer together than are the portions 8 which are located-in adjoining relation to the bottom. The outer end portions of the sides are bent outwardly as indicated at 10 to provide the relatively widely separated portions 11 which-are adapted to engage the outer enlarged end portion 12 of a reflector unit which is cylindrical in cross section. It will be apparent that upon the removal of theprotecting plate the reflector units will be held securely in lace by the s ring holding elements 3 and t at any one 0 said units may be removed without in any way disturbing any'other of the said units.

It will be seen that by my invention I have provided means of simple construction whereby a reflector unit may be removably held upon a support therefor and whereby each unit of a, group of units may be -removed without disturbing in any respect whatsoever any one of the other units of such group.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim. and desireto secure byLetters Patent is: i v

1. A device of the character described comprising a supporting plate, a plurality of spring holding elements secured to said plate, each'of said elements having oppositely disposed spring sides, light reflector ,um'ts mounted in the said spring holding elements and held by the said oppositely disposed sides thereof, and a protecting plate mounted upon the first named plate and having openings which register with the a said reflector units. 1

2. A device of the character described comprising a supporting member, spring holding elements mounted upon said member, said spring holding elements respectively comprising oppositely disposed sides which are convergent and which are curvicomprising a supporting member, spring ing oppositely disposed sides which are convergently related, said sides having inner and outer end portions, the latter portions being bent laterally outward to "form shoulders intermediate the inner and outer end portions, and H ht reflector units mounted etween the sai in place thereby.
