In practice it is to be understood that the member 1 willbe positioned upon a post or other supporting surface a distance sufliciently above the floor level to prevent ready access thereto by small children or by cats and dogs, and it will also be readily seen that the construction of the holder hereinbefore described is such to permit the bottle to be readily applied'or removed. Furthermore, it is to be noted that when the bottle is removed the member 1 will at once swing upwardly against the adjacent face of the post or other support and that the clip or loop member 18 will readily drop down to such position so that when the device is not in use these members areout of the way. 7 From the foregoing description it is thought to be obvious that a milk bottle holder constructed in accordance with my invention is particularly well adapted for use by reason of the convenience and facility with which it may be assembled and operated, and it will also be obvious that my invention is susceptible of some change and modification without departing from the principles and spirit thereof-and for this reason I do not wish to be understood as limiting myself to the precise arrangement and formation of the severalparts herein shown in carrying out my invention in practice except as herein after claimed. I

A bottle holder comprising, in combination, a member having a side flange to provide a cup-like formation toreceive the base portion of a bottle, an outstanding arm carried by the upper portion of the flange, a pivot bolt, means for engaging the outer end portion of the arm to the pivot bolt, members with which the pivot bolt is engaged, the arm being positioned between said members, a frame contacting with the bottom of the cuplike member and having spaced extremities,

coil springs carried by said extremities of the frame and encircling the pivot bolt at opposite sides of the arm, said springs being operatively engaged with the supporting members for the bolt, said springs exercising a tension for automatically raising the cup-like member when free of load, and'means for limiting the downward swinging movement of the arm.
