IMPROVEMENT IN ORGAN-CSES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No 175,430,V dated March 28, 1876 application filed February 2l, 1876.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, GEORGE COOK, of New Haven, in the county of New Haven and State Of Connecticut, have invented a new Improvement in Organ-Cases; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawings constitute part of' this specification, and represent, in-

rIhis invention relates to an improvement in cases for reed-organs and similar musical instruments, the object .being the construction of a case which may serve as a receptacle for books, music, and like purposes, and so that the front may be closed to close the said receptacle, and at the same time inclose the pedals, and thereby prevent mice from entering the case, (a serious difficulty experienced in the usual construction,) as well as to prevent tampering with the pedals; and the invention consists in a pediment at each side of the central or pedal recess, the said pediments opening into the said recess, combined with a sliding door or doors, by which the front of the said recess may be closed, thereby closing the said pediments and inclosing the pedals.

I claim- In an organ-case, the combination of the receptacles F at the sides of, and Opening into, the central or pedal recess D, and the sliding door or doors H arranged to close the front ot ,the said recess, substantiallyas described.
