After these crystals have been deposited in the bottle, a cap or closure member 12 is secured to the open end of the bottle sealing the same against action of moisture and so preventing the crystals from lumping whereby when one of these units which consists of combustible bottle filled with the combustible chemical crystals is subjected to the action of the flame, the bottle or outer envelope upon being consumed releases the dry chemical crystal contents which when acted upon by the flame are distributed over the burning logs to produce the desired coloring effects to the flame.
These units may be marketed in bundle form, each bundle to contain a definite number of units, as illustrated in Figure 2 and the whole may be bound together by a binder member 13 if desired'and deposited in a box In some instances, each bottle in the bundle is tinted a different color so that when assembled the units of the whole suggests the different colors of the flame produced by the burning chemicals which renders the package attractive and stimulates sale of the artic e.

I claim 1. A combustible chemical unit comprising a sealed moisture-proof bottle formed of combustible material and containing combustible chemical crystals of a character to produce various colors in flame when burned, said bottle being elongated and of a size to contain an appropriate quantity to be applied at a single time to a log fire, whereby, when the unit is bodily deposited on the burning logs the bottle is consumed and .the crystals are acted upon and distributed by the flames over the burning logs to produce the desired coloring effects. t.
