Abstract

1,166,966. Packaging cigarette holders. H. L. SHAW. 1 Feb., 1968, No. 5256/68. Heading B8C. A cigarette holder 10, e.g. as disclosed in Specification 930,253 and containing impregnated fibrous material 13A, has a tearable film 20, Fig. 1, covering the mouthpiece end 11 and a plug 16 at the other end 12. A metal sleeve 13 receives the plug 16 which is formed of gasimpervious plastics material. The film 20 is formed by dipping the end 11 of the holder into a plasticizing solution. A number of holders may be packaged together in a blister pack, Fig. 1, formed by a backing sheet 30 and a shaped transparent covering 31, and the sheet 30 may have perforations (32), Fig. 3 (not shown), to facilitate tearing and to allow subsequent removal of individual holders from the pack.
