The present invention relates to improvements in'necktie holders.

The main object of the invention is to provide a device of this character which can be 5 easily and securely attached to the shank of an ordinary collar button and serves to keep the tie in place, that is to say it prevents the tie from moving about the button in any clirection. Another object of the invention is to produce a device of the character mentioned which has a tendency to cause the tie to bulge or set out, so as to give the knot of the tie more prominence.

A further object of the invention is to provide a device of the character mentioned which is simple in construction, eificient in operation, durable in use and capable of manufacture on a commercial scale, or in other words one which is not so diificult to produce as to be beyond the reasonable costof such a contrivance.

With these and other objects in View, which will more fully appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the, same consists in the combination, arrangement an construction of parts hereinafter described, pointed out in the appended claim and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, it being understood thatmany changes may be made in the size and proportion of theseveral parts and details of'construction within the scope of the appended claim, without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention.

band 11 and a folded over top 12. The usual -tabs of the band "are provided. with front 'buttonholes, adapted to be engaged by a button 13, the latter being extended through the 1 front button holes of the collar band of the 5 shirt to which the collar is to be attached. 1

The necktie holder is .constructed of .a single piece of metal 14, and comprises a bifurcated shank 15, the outer ends of the tines 16 of the bifurcated portion of the shank I being bent substantially at right angles to the-body portion thereof, andare adapted to straddle the shank 17 of the collar button. The opposite end of the bifurcated shank 15 a f is in the form of a point or pin 18, which is 9365. adapted to enter the necktie. On. the bifurcated portion of. the shank 15 are formed lugs 19, which extend in a direction opposite to the outer bent ends 16 of the tines.

The operation of this device is as follows 2 7 The tie is first mounted upon the collar in the usual manner. The outer free ends 16 of the tines of the device are then engaged with the button shank 17, the button head holding the same securely. in position there- 7 1 on. When the tie holder has thus been arranged in position on the collar, the pin 18 of the device is caught into or engaged with the rear side of the'tie, preferably below the knot or bow thereof, thus supporting or hold- 31.80 ing the tie in position and preventing any sagging thereof and consequent exposure of the collar button and untidy appearance of the necktie. As appears from Fig. 1 of the drawings, the holder is extended at anacute angle to the shankof the collar button and therebycauses the tie tobulge out.
