PRICE INDICATOR Sept. 3, 1929.
Filed June 19. 1928 Patented Sept. 3, 1929.
UNITED STATES ALPHONSE PQIRIERQOF snowman, WASHINGTON.
PRICE INDICATOR.
Application filed June 19,
My invention relates broadly to price mark indicators, and more particularly to the construction of a changeable exhibiting device.
One of the objects of my invention is to provide a simplified construction of changeable exhibitor capable of being manufactured from sheet metal at extremely small cost in quantity production.
Another object of my invention is tov provide a changeable exhibitor having a fiat face portion and a flat rear portion adapted to slide one within the other to form pockets or divided sections in which are disposed the several exhibiting devices.
Still another object of my invention is to provide a flat frainelike price exhibiting device behind which is provided a plurality of pockets formed from an integral sheet of metal in which may be disposed a plurality of exhibiting cards visible through the framelike structure for indicating the price of goods or articles to which the device may be attached.
till another object of the invention is to provide a flat framelike device having guide members integral with the sides thereof and pocket-like devices slidable in the said guide members and carrying a plurality of indicator cards visible from the front of the framelike device for indicating description or price of the goods or articles to which the device may be attached. I
till another object of my invention is to provide a combined price and description indicator for merchandise con'iprising a framelike structure having a plurality of apertures in one side thereof and a corresponding number of slidable pockets in the rear of each of the said apertures, each pocket being adapted to contain a plurality of indicating cards by which various descriptions or prices of goods may be displayed through the apertures in the front of the device.
Still other and further objects of my invention will be understood by reference to the following specification and accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a bolt of material showing my price and description indicator applied to the end thereof; Fig. 2 is a front View of the price and description indicator represented in Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is a rear iew of the price and description indicator showing the arrangement of pockets in the rear of the framelike structure; Fig. tis a 1929. Serial No. 286,549.
cross-sectional View of the device shown in Fig. 2 taken on line 44 of Fig. 2; Fig. 5 is a horizontal cross-sectional view. of the device taken on line 55 of Fig. 3; and Figs. 6 and 7 are front and rear views respectively of a modified construction of price indicator constructed in accordance with my invention.
Referring in detail to the drawings, reference character 1 indicates a bolt of material in which the hook 2 is placed for supporting the substantially flat framelike member The member 3 is apertured at 4 and 5 for displaying a description or other markings for the goods. The lower edge of member 8 is turned at an angle as shown at 21 forming a lower abutment for the sets of card exhibitors 6, 7
and 8. The vertical side portions 16 and 17 of the member 3 are turned inwardly serving as guldes for the pocket devices 10 and 19, each of which is provided with inturned edges 14 and 15 sliding into guides 16 and 17. The pocket 19 is provided with inturned edges 22 and 23 enabling the pocket to be guided between edges 16 and 17 of member 3. A transparent plate member 20 is fitted in the rear of member 3 and behind apertures Land 5 in such manner that the indicating cards may be readily seen from the front of the device. Pocket 19 carries a plurality of various forms of printed cards 9 which may be disposed in any desired sequence, permitting the exhibitor to be changed as desired. The pocket member 10 is divided into a plurality of sections by means of partition members 11 and 12 which are struck out from the metal of pocket 10. The plurality of cards 6, 7 and 8 may bear any desired markings and may be alternated or disposed in any desired sequence to provide the desired display through aperture 5. The entire device may be mounted by suspending it at aperture 2.
In Figs. 6 and 7 I have shown a price mark indicator having only a single pocket 10 without pocket 19 and aperture 4 for use where it is unnecessary to accompany the marking with any descriptive titles.
While I have described the invention in certain particular embodiments, I desire that it be understood that modifications may be made, and that no limitations of the invention are intended other than are imposed by the scope of the appended claim.
What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is as follows:
A price indicator, comprising in combina-- tion a flat sheet member having its lower edge guideways' whereby a plurality of exhibitors disposed at right angles to its front face and may be carried Within the several sections of extending rearwardly therefrom, the vertical said pocket member visible from the face of 10 side edges of said member being turned insaid first named member.
l wardly in the form of guideways, a pocket In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
member having a plurality of sections and a pair of edges shaped to extend under said ALPHONSE POIRIER.
