CURTAIN FIXTURE.

This invention relates to curtain fixtures, an object of the invention being to provlde improved means whereby the curtains may be drawn together or separated, and of course the invention applies: to portiieres and other analogous devices, but for con venience of description I shall refer to the parts operated as curtains. I

A further object is to provide an nnproved construction of brackets which may be supported on a curtain rod and which will support an endless cord operatively connected to the curtains and provide mounting for pull cords to operate the curtains.

With these and other objects in View, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction and combinations and arrangements of parts, which will be more fully hereinafter described and pointed out in the claim.

In the accompanying drawings- Figure 1 is a perspective view showing my invention in operative position relative to a pair of curtains and their support;

1 represents a window or door frame, in the upper portion of which a curtain rod 2 is mounted and supports a series of curtain rings 3 from which curtains 4 and 5 are suspended in the ordinary manner.

On the rod 2 and adjacent the ends there of I locate my improved brackets A and B. These brackets A and B may constitute cast ings and they may be of any suitable ma terial and have openings 6 therein to re ceive the curtain rod 2. Set screws 7 are provided in the upper ends of the brackets A and B which engage the curtain rod and secure the brackets against movement.

These brackets A and B are provided on their faces with forwardly projecting perforated lugs 8 between which horizontally positioned pulleys 9 are mounted.

The bracket A is slightly longer than the bracket B and is made with a pair of slots 10 in which vertically disposed pulleys 11 are mounted on a pin 12 which extends through the bracket. An endless cord 13 is supported on the horizontally disposed pulleys 9, and one run of this cord is operatively connected to a curtain ring 3 of curtain 5, the other run of the cord being operatively connected to a ring 3 of curtain 1.

The rings 3 which are connected to the respective curtains are those which are normally adjacent the center of the pole, so that the movement of the cord 13 will cause the curtains to separate or be drawn together, will be readily understood.

1 1 and 15 are pull cords which are connected either to the respective runs of the cord 13 or to the rings which are connected to said runs, and are passed over the pulleys 11 and hang in convenient position at one side of the Window or door frame so that by exerting a pull on these cords the curtains may be moved together or separated.

While I have illustrated what I believe to be a preferred embodiment of my invention it is obvious various changes and alterations might be made in the general form of the parts described without departing from my invention and hence I do not limit myself to the precise details set forth but consider myself at liberty to make such changes and alterations as fairly fall within the spirit and scope of the appended claim.

I claim:

A curtain operating means, including a pair of brackets having openings therein adapted to receive a curtain rod, means for securing the brackets at any desired position of adjustment on the rod, horizontally positioned cord receiving pulleys on both of said brackets, and a" pair of vertically disposed cord receiving pulleys on one of said brackets, an endless curtainsupporting cord passed around the horizontal pulleys, and other cords connected to the respective runs of the first mentioned cord andpassed around the vertically disposed pulleys constituting pull cords to move the curtain.
