CABINET CAMP TABLE.

This invention relates to new and useful improvements in tables and cabinets, and aims to provide, a combined cabinet and table for use by campers, tourists, and the like. In carrying out the present invention there is provided a cabinet unit constructed to provide a series of compartments for bread, jellies, 'salt and pepper, and other edibles as well as compartments for dishes, silver, and similar ware. Furthermore, the construction of thecabinet is such that the same may be readily opened, and that when in opened condition, certain walls of the cabinet will afford a relatively large table so that meals may be eaten thereon.

The invention further aims to provide a combined device of this character wherein there is provided supporting legs for detachable association with the ends of the cabinet,

the same being of 'such a length as to permit the same to be stored within a tray provided within the cabinet so that the cabinet may be readily disposed within an automobile or secured to the `running board thereof.

The most important object of the present invention is to provide Ya combi-ned `device of the aforementioned character that is .of relatively simple construction Vand inexpensive of manufacture and onev that is highly adapt# able for use while on extended `motoring trips. l

With the foregoing and other objects in view as the nature of the invention will be better understood, the Vsame comprises the novel form, combination vand arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, shown in the accompanying drawings and claimed. L

NOW having particular reference to thek drawings there is disclosed a cabinet designated generallyby the reference character A. This cabinet is preferably olf elongated formation as ldisclosedin Figures l, 2, 4, 5 and 6 and of rectangular shape lin cro-ss section as disclosed in Figure 3. AThis/cabinet constructionincludes among other elements aV bottom wall 5, a pair of end walls @-6 and acentral perpendicular partition wall 7 that extends throughout the length of .the cabinet intermediate the sides thereof ,for dividing the same into compartments ,at opoosite sides ofthe cabinet. f v

'As clearly disclosed in Figure 3 the` upper edge of this partition 7 terminates beneath the upper' edges of the-end walls 6-'-.6 so that in elevated la relatively narrow tray 8 maybe disposed within the cabinet directly above the partition 7 and rested thereon, the ends of this tray 8 being further supported by translverse cross cleats 2)*9V arranged upon the inner faces of the vend walls 6-6 directly at the upperv edge of said partition 7, seeFigure 5. IVithin the end of the compartment at this particular side of the cabinet A opposite from that end carrying the partitions is a pair of relativel widely spaced partitions 13-13 that extenc to the edge of the longi- Jaudinal partition 7 and extending long'- tudinally of which are vertically spaced bars 14 that are secured at their ends to the front lOv .partments within which may be arranged small containers such as mustard jars, salt and pepper shakers, etc. Provided for dis position within the main compartment of the container A at the side of the partition 7 is a metallic bread box 17 of a length less than the length of its particular compartment so that other containers may be arranged between the bread box 17 and said partition as suggested in Figure 5. l

Hinged to the opposite longitudinal edges ofthe bottom wall 5 of the cabinet A are l side walls 18-18 that are connected at their opposite ends to the ends of the tray supporting cleats 9-9 by chains or other flexible connections 19. Hinged to the other Ul v longitudinal edges of said side walls 1818V are lid sections 20-20, which when the walls 18-18 are extended upwardly into closed position may be swung downwardly upon the tray 8 and interconnected by any suitable fastener for maintaining the sides and top of the cabinet closed and for obviously retaining the various articles within their compartments therein. Furthermore, it will be appreciated from a consideration `of Figures 3 and 6 on the dotted lines in Figure 1 that when the walls 18-l8 are swung downwardlyto horizontal position there will be provided at opposite sides of the cabinet -A table or writing boards. I

Arranged upon the end walls 6 6 of the cabinet are suitable carrying handles 21-21, while arranged directly beneath these handles are headed pins 22-22. Beneath the pinv at each end wall of the cabinet and adjacent the loweredge thereof is a pair of spaced headed pins 23-23, which pins are rforthe purpose of permittingsupporting lefrs for the cabinet to be detachably .asso.

Constructed for association with each end of the cabinet is a pair of rsimilar constructed L-bar legs 24e-24, the yinner walls of which extend beyond the outer walls at the upper ends and which walls are notched Vas at 25-25 for engagement over the respective pair of legs is a brace bar 26 formed at its ower edge and at its free end with a notch 27 for engagement over a headed pin 28 carried by the complementary leg as more clearly disclosed in Figure 7. Obviously after the legs 24-24 have been properly associated with the pins at a particular end of the cabinet A said legs are interconnected by the bars 26 to prevent the movement of the same with respect to each other. Furthermore, it will be readily apparent that the legs at opposite endsof the cabinet may be readily associated therewith and as readily detached therefrom.' Then removed from the cabinet, these legs are to be arranged within the tray 8 at the top of the cabinet A as suggested by the dotted lines in Figures 3 and 6.

In view of the foregoing description when considered in conjunction with the accompanying drawings it will at lonce be apparent that I have provided a highly novel, simple and extremely useful cabinet camp table that is well adapted for all the purposes heretofore designated, even though I have herein shown and described the Vinvention as consisting of certain detail structural elements it is nevertheless to be understood that some changes may be made therein without affecting lthe spirit and scope of the appended claims.

-Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new and desire to -secure by Letters Patentis zn l'. Knock-down supporting means for elevated bodies comprising a pairof horizontally spaced projections at each end of a body, aV projection at each'end of the Abody at a point above thepair of projections, a

pair of support-ing legs for each end of thek body, the legs of each pair being formed at one of their ends with longitudinally extending notches, said legs being each formed at a point adjacent its notched end with a transverselyk disposed notch, the legs of each vpair being adapted to overlap at their notched ends so that said notches will register to receive the upper projections on the body, while the adjacent notches of the leg members receive the horizontally spaced projections on the body, and a member for connecting the respective pairs of legs together kat their intermediate portions.
