According to my invention, I employ a band of metal adapted to fit around and firmly embrace the wall or external surface of the heel. This band is divided into two parts, whichare hinged together at one end, while at their opposite ends they are connected together by means of a screw passing through logs or projections from their ends. The lower edge of this band is connected with a series of flanges, adapted to pass beneath and rest against the under side of the heel, and these flanges support pins or projections, to prevent slipping of the foot of the wearer; but that my invention may be 'fully understood I will describe the same in detail byreference to the accompanying drawings, which form part of this specification.
Figure 1 represents a vertical section, and Fig. 2 a plan, of my improved heel attach ment. i
In each of the views similar letters of reference are employed to indicate corresponding parts wherever they occur.
Arepresents a band of metal, adapted to fit around and firmly embrace the Wall or external surface f of a heel, F. This band A is divided into two parts, A A, which are connected together at one end bya hinge, b, while at their opposite ends they are connected by means of a screw. E, passing through lugs or projections A3. The lower edge of this band A is constructed with a series of flanges, c 0, adapted to'pass beneath and rest against the under side of the heel F, and theseflanges support the pins or projections d 01.
