FLOOR FOR BABY CRIBS.

This invention pertains to an improvement in a liner bottom for baby cribs and it is an object of my invention to provide a readily removable and detachable floor or bottom of this character containing certain improvements and advantages which will readily appear from a description of the accompanying draw in gs.

It will, of course, be understood that my improvedbottom and floor may be embodied in, and as a partof any suitable and Well known baby crib, in other Words, the superstructure therefor may be of any desirable or suitable form.

Supported on and adapted to fit ghtly within this annular lodge is a liquid-proof pan 12 constructed of rubber or other suitable material. Detachably til itly within is a readily removable false ooi. constructed of wood or similar maal of substantial thickness, which member is of sufficient size to tightly wedge the upstanding flanges or edges 14 of the pain 12 tightly against the shoulder 15 of the bottom framework 10. T he false bottom or floor 13 is provided with a plurality of openings 16, so the. t any liquid in the crib may percolate or down through these openings into the pan. The super-structure of the crib may be secured to the bottom in any well known manner, for example, by inserting the rungs 18 in suitable openings in the bottom framework, as best shown in Figure 2.

lVith my improved invention it will be mounted within the pan 12, and adapted to seen that I have provided an arrangement which makes for a dry bed and, at the Same time the bottom can be readily removed and cleaned and the pan emptied.

Having thus described my invent-ion, I claim:

1. As an article of manufacture, a portable crib for infants comprising in combination a bottom frame member provided with vertical and horizontal supporting shoulders, at flexible liquid proof member supported on and within said shoulders having upwardly extending flanges el'igaging the vertical shoulders and a readily detachable and perforated rigid false bottom of substantial thickness positioned within said liquid-proof member and supported on said frame member and 1 adapted to tightly clamp the flanges of said liquid-proof member tightly against the vertical. shoulders on said frame member, said false bottom and liquid-proof member providing a tightly compact, substantially rigid structure substantially as and for the purpose set forth.

2. A crib construction comprising in combination, a bottom frame member with vertical and horizontal supporting shoulders, a flexible liquid-proof pan supported on and within said shoulders, said pan having upwardly extending flanges engaging the vertical shoulders, and a readily removable false floor adapted to be positioned in said pan and provided with perforations for draining any liquid into the bottom of the pan, said floor fitting into said pan to tightly clamp the upwardly extending flanges of said pan against the vertical shoulders of said member, said combined member, pan and floor providing a rigid, compact, liquid-proof construction, which may be lifted out and dis-assembled by a straight longitudinal pull on said floor, and super-structure for said crib and attached to said frame member, said frame member providing a base and support for the superstructure.
